Operations and Communications Coordinator

Position Summary:

The primary function of the Operations and Communications Coordinator is to assist the C.E.O in managing the daily operation of Nu Deco Ensemble. The Operations and Communications Coordinator will work with the C.E.O and others to develop and implement communication strategies with Nu Deco Ensemble’s key constituencies (concert attendees, schools, board members, prospective funders, personnel, artists management, community supporters, collaborative partners).   Efficiency, attention to detail, flexibility, ability to multi-task, smiling disposition, and good judgment are critical to this role.  We are looking for dependable, hardworking, well organized, and resourceful person that welcomes feedback as means to personal and professional growth. 

Essential Functions:

  • Bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable, on a daily basis, prepare financial reports as needed

  • Maintain all contact management databases and systems

  • Support activities related to development, including generating acknowledgement letter,s keeping track of donations, assisting with annual mailings

  • Assist with event and program preparation, planning and execution

  • Assist with programmatic administration and implementation

  • Manage and coordinate Nu Deco Ensemble artistic personnel activity

  • Support the development and execution of identity and collateral material for major organizational initiatives

  • Collaboratively manage and coordinate creation and update of web content

  • Implement e-communications for donors and general public


  • Bachelor’s degree,

  • 1-2 years of marketing, communications, and/or management experience preferable

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills

  • Stong computer skills, Proficiency Excel, and MS Office, proficiency in Salesforce and Quickbooks a plus

  • Occasional evenings and weekend required

  • Arts/musical background a plus

  • Above all, must be a self-starter, and able to take the initiative to find ansnwers to questions
